Since August, the AREALME IQ Test has kept a list of your past scores. It was useful, but it only remembered the number. If you finished the Complete version, closed the page, and later wondered which abilities pulled your score up or down, that part was gone.

Starting today, your history keeps the full report.

Thank You, Rafael

This feature was suggested by Rafael Miada. Thank you, Rafael! It is exactly the kind of feedback that makes the test better for everyone, and we were happy to build it.

Open a Past Score to See the Whole Report

Open the IQ Test in the same browser you used before. If you have saved results, a button under the start button shows your latest score and how many results are in your history, such as Score 126 · History (3). Open it, and every score with a saved report is underlined. Tap one to see that report.

History list with two underlined scores that open saved reports and an older score-only result

Sample data. Underlined scores open their saved reports. The result at the bottom was saved before this update, so it only has a score.

Each saved report shows:

  • Your IQ score, with the date and the version you took (Quick or Complete)
  • How many questions you answered
  • Your cognitive profile across seven abilities: pattern recognition, visual-spatial reasoning, numerical ability, logic, working memory, planning, and attention
  • The calculation details: adjusted ability, raw accuracy, and guessing baseline
  • Your certificate, if you created one for that result

A saved Complete report with a score of 126, seven ability bars, and expanded calculation details

Sample data. A saved Complete report with the calculation details expanded.

The seven-part profile comes with the Complete version. Quick results keep their score and calculation details, and if you continue a Quick test into the Complete version, the Quick entry is upgraded instead of appearing twice.

Saved certificates are view-only, so the initials on them cannot be changed.

What the Calculation Details Mean

These numbers sit between your answers and your IQ score. The test first corrects your performance for the chance of getting answers right by guessing, then compares the adjusted result with recent test takers. Tap the small i next to Calculation details to see the same explanation inside the test.

  • Raw accuracy is the share of available points you earned, including partial credit. Questions are weighted, so it is not simply the share of questions you got right.
  • Guessing baseline is the score you would expect from random answers under the scoring rules. It is a reference point, not an estimate of how often you guessed.
  • Adjusted ability is your raw accuracy after allowing for that baseline, on a scale from 0 to 100%.

In the sample report above, a raw accuracy of 78% with a 20% guessing baseline gives (78% - 20%) ÷ (100% - 20%) = 72.5%, which is shown as 73%. None of these percentages is an IQ score or a percentile rank.

If you want to know why we show this much of the workings, we explained our thinking in Online IQ Tests Have a Trust Problem.

A Saved Report Is a Snapshot

We keep improving the test. In the past few weeks alone, we retired an underperforming question and replaced an ambiguous number puzzle.

That is why a saved report never changes. It shows the values from the moment you finished, and we do not quietly re-score an old attempt with today’s questions.

A Few Limits

  • Older results only have the score. Results saved before this update did not keep their details, and we will not make them up. They stay in your list without an underline.
  • Everything stays in your browser. There is no account and no cloud copy. Clearing site data, using private browsing, or switching to another browser or device can remove your history. Browsers can also clear stored data on their own.
  • Up to 20 results are kept for each language version of the test.
  • History is for viewing. There are no download buttons in the history panel. If you want a copy to keep, take a screenshot.

Try It

The update is live in every language version of the IQ Test. Take the AREALME IQ Test: it is still free, with no email and no payment. The next time you open it in the same browser, your full report will be waiting in your history.

Thanks again, Rafael!
